After struggling myself during the install of Hobbit Server (now called Xymon), I thought it might be
useful if I wrote a
install guide for others to follow. As usual (I am sure most will agree),
Open Source
has
a strong reputation of useless documentation!!!
Here is a 'draft' install guide that I have written detailing every single step on how to
install
Hobbit Server 4.2.0 on RedHat 5.1 Enterprise (Linux).
Even though this install guide is Red Hat specific, anyone with a little Linux knowledge
will 'generally' be able to follow this guide and install Hobbit Server on any flavour of Linux.
This install guide includes several topics that cover a whole Server build / install, i.e. most
importantly how to install Red hat 5.1.
